About Me

She, Her -

Hello Everyone, my name is Laura. I graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with my Masters's Degree in Mental Health Counseling in 2018 and my Education Specialist Degree in 2019. I received my EMDR Certification with EMDRIA in 2021. I have worked in many different capacities within mental health for about 25 years, ranging from case management, ombudsmanship as a military spouse, mentoring, psychoeducation, community counseling, crisis management, and private practice. I have lived in several places across the United States, both in rural communities and in large cities. This has allowed me to experience diversity in communities, populations, and cultures and meet people from different walks of life.

My experience ranges from working with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, domestic violence, narcissistic abuse, and women’s issues. Domestic violence, women’s issues, and trauma are my specialties. The populations I specialize with are First Responders, Active Duty Military, Reserves, Military Spouses, Veterans, the geriatric population, and caregivers.

My counseling style is warm, interactive, and empathetic. I believe everyone should be treated with empathy, genuineness, respect, sensitivity, and compassion.

I believe in meeting people where they are in their journey. My approach combines existential therapy, humanistic therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and EMDR therapy. We will work together as a team to tailor sessions and treatments.

Taking the steps toward healing is not always easy. Let's walk through this together. I look forward to working with you!
